Callmate Terms of Use

Last Updated: June 2026

This page is the agreement between you and Callmate Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“we” / “us”) about your use of the Callmate app and callmate.co.in. Together with the Privacy Notice and — if you become a Listener — the Listener Terms, they govern everything you do here. Continuing to use the app means you accept them.

Our registered office is at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Who can use Callmate

You must be 18 years of age or older. You must also be legally permitted to use a voice/video calling app in your country and capable of forming a binding agreement. A first-launch age gate enforces this on the device.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number via OTP. We don't use passwords. Keep the phone secure: anyone with access to your SIM can log in. Tell us immediately if your number is lost, ported, or compromised and we will reset the session.

By signing up you authorise us to send transactional SMS and push notifications related to your account, even if your number is on the DND/NCPR list — these are operational messages, not marketing.

One person, one account. Don't share, lend, sell, or resell your account. Multiple accounts on a single SIM, or use of unlicensed automation, are grounds for permanent removal.

What you must not do

  • Harass, threaten, insult, blackmail, or sexually harass any other user.
  • Share, request, or publish content involving minors, hate speech, illegal drugs, weapons, self-harm imagery, or sexual material featuring non- consenting people.
  • Impersonate someone else, pretend to be a Callmate employee, or run a business / promotion / political campaign through your calls.
  • Attempt to scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, jailbreak, decompile, or attack the service or its APIs. Penetration-test reports are welcome — email support@callmate.co.in.
  • Exchange or solicit phone numbers, social handles, or off-platform contact with the intent to circumvent our coin-based pricing or our listener payout system.
  • Record, screenshot, transcribe, or redistribute any call or chat without the other person's explicit consent.
  • Use the app for anything that would be illegal in India.

Breaking any of the above leads to a warning, suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity. Serious or repeated breaches are reported to law enforcement.

Coins and refunds

Coins are prepaid in-app credit. They are not money, they cannot be sold or transferred between accounts, and they have no value outside of Callmate. Buying coins gives you a revocable licence to spend them on calls.

  • Coins are charged per minute of connected call time.
  • Calls that don't connect (declined, missed, cancelled while ringing) are refunded automatically into the wallet.
  • Connected calls are non-refundable except where a payment was processed without your consent (fraud) — in which case write to support and we will investigate within seven working days.
  • Coins expire 182 days after purchase.
  • If your account is suspended for a breach of these Terms, any coin balance and any pending listener earnings are forfeited.
  • Prices, exchange rates, and taxes may change at any time. Continuing to buy after a change means you accept it.

Listeners

If you opt in to listener mode, additional rules apply — see the Listener Terms. In short: you set your own availability, we take a platform fee from each paid minute, and we pay out the rest via UPI subject to KYC.

Our role and limits of liability

Callmate is an intermediary under Indian law. We don't script, pre-screen, or endorse what other users say to you. Use the app at your own judgement and report anything off.

We do not warrant uninterrupted service, zero bugs, or any specific result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is capped at whatever you paid us for services in the six months before the event causing the claim.

Indemnity

You will reimburse us for any costs, damages, or third-party claims that arise from your misuse of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights. We may handle and settle such claims ourselves; you agree to cooperate.

Suspension and removal

We may suspend or delete your account, individual sessions, or specific features without prior notice when there is an active safety risk, a credible legal order, or evidence of large-scale abuse. For lesser issues we try to warn you first. Coins/earnings forfeiture follows the rules above.

Intellectual property

Everything we built — the app, the brand mark, the listener UX, the audio engine — is ours. You can't copy or repackage it. Content you create (your bio, voice intro, etc.) stays yours, but you grant us a limited licence to display it inside the product and to moderate it for safety.

Changes to these terms

We can update these Terms when we add or change features. Material edits will be flagged in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the app before it takes effect.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Indian law. Disputes go to the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, with the exception of small-claim consumer matters that can be filed in your home jurisdiction as the law allows.
